Did You Know?
|
|
True Christians worship God and celebrate the Resurrection of our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ and walk in His power. Jesus Resurrection Day is better than calling the day Easter. Did you know the word Easter appears only once in the King James Version of the Bible. In Acts 12:4. It's a mistranslation of the Hebrew word pascha, which is correctly translated "Passover" in 28 other places. The English word Easter is from the Teutonic goddess of Spring,'Eastre' or 'Eostre' and the festival of 'Eostur'. It was adapted by carnal Christians to its present usage about the 8th century after Christ.
Modern Easter symbols and practices are of pagan origin, in essence of satanic origin to keep people from the true meaning of the Holy day. The use of dyed eggs began in the times of the Egyptians and Persians to celebrate the new life of Spring that returns to nature around this time of year. The Persians believed that the earth hatched from a giant egg rather than created by the God of heaven. Easter rabbits represent the goddess of fertility (the sex goddess) because of their rapid reproductive rate. Easter has its roots in the pagan worship of 'Astarte'or the Assyrian ' Ishtar' who was the queen of heaven which God condemned in the Holy Scriptures in Jeremiah 7:17-18.
Jeremiah 7:17-18 (KJV)
17 Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead their dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
God is angry when we bring pagan practices into our worship of God. We must rid ourselves of these wicked practices. Do we not suppose that the Devil is not behind these matters to keep the Church powerless against him. Realize Beloved, that you have been given power over all the power of the enemy, don't bring the enemy into Gods worship. Fight the good fight of faith and keep the Church pure.
